It's Die Deterioration. The die has worn down and caused a ghosting effect on the devices. Sorry, but I would not waste my money.

Hey guys like Ive always said I'm no expert and so there is a possibility that I could be wrong . so please don't get your panties in a bunch ok ... . Infact I mostly say alot of things that I say simply because in all honesty I know for a fact that there are several negative individuals in the C.C. who are providing negative responses on other people finds simply because of their huge Egos or solely based on the jealousy of someone else making a nice find before they do . So please forgive me if I have accidentally mistaken anyone for one of those individuals ok . Oh and to say that there isn't people in the coin community who would do that would be totally fake so please keep it real ok ...

Sorry, it's not a Doubled Die. It's not MD. MD is from an extra bounce at the strike. MD is flat or sheared and close to the devices. It is DDD from a worn die. Die Deterioration going in the direction of the rim. It goes with the flow.

Please note how the "doubling" follows the die flow lines as they radiate from the center of the coin. Were this hub doubling it would be class II or class VI. These classes do not apply to dies produced in the single squeeze era. This appears to be Die Deterioration.

Hardfinds80, First of all, I agree with Die Deterioration . Secondly , In all your posts you refer to members as having large ego's and jealousy of your finds. I have found non of that to be the case on any of my posts. When someone does have a real find, I have seen nothing but excitement and encouragement from the members. These folks on here are just trying to expand the knowledge of coin collectors . I will say I have gained a wealth of knowledge from them. I don't know what you hope to gain by referring to some members as you do, just because you don't get the answer you want from them. Ask yourself, what do they gain by giving you there honest opinion , based on a lot of research and experience . So, good luck with your searching, but if you continue to put members down, I see no reason to read or respond to any more of your posts

Hey oldmike . As a wise man once told me Honesty is the best policy and if someone don't like it then I feel really sorry for them . infact in response to your claim that you have found non of that to be the case if that is honestly how you feel then you certainly no longer need to reply to any of my coin finds or comments because that is not being real that is what I call being fake just like some of these other comments that I have that are not even focused on my coin find or even remotely related to it... Infact you can think whatever you want or even pretend like people with huge Egos or jealous characters don't exist within the coin community because I really don't care and my comments were based solely on some of the rude and immature comments that I received in response to my coin finds ... Further more it has absolutely nothing to do with me being right or wrong because you see I could care less about that and I lose absolutely no sleep over. It but I'm not sure if I can say the same for you my friend because you sound a like I'm referring to you and like you fall in that same catagory yourself .

Hardfinds, you should definitely send those coins off to be certified. Dont let these other people convince you that what you have is worth only face value. What if they are wrong? You could be passing up the chance to have some rare valuable coins. Only the professional graders can tell you definitively. The other people may have experience collecting for over twenty years, but what do they really know?

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Lets keep the discussion just that, a fairly pleasant discussion between members.

The 15 I was ready to write off, but that "5" is interesting and presents notching. DDD usually is around the entire perimeter. Not sure I would buy it, but I'm open to being shown to be wrong. The 16 has clear notching on the "2". This is a distinguishing mark of DD. Keep in mind that a single coin could have DD, DDD, and MD all at the same time. Lastly, Long ago I submitted a few coins to the group and one member who was something of an expert kept shooting down my coins. MD, DDD. I got so frustrated that I took a pic from the Vista Variety Website of, I think, a 38 Jeff. The same expert ( who really should have been considered an expert) immediately shut me down and declared it to be MD. The same people who love to pile on once an "expert" has spoken also piled on. Well; after that I never submitted a coin to the group. I did submit some of my coins that I thought were DD and that had been proclaimed "not" by the group. Some did inded come back as MD, and DDD. Three, on the other hand did come back as DDOs. Now that was many years ago, and times change. There are a lot of good people here. So I see both sides. I see some newbies who really do see DD when it is something else. And that is fair. We all have to start someplace, and maybe we just need to beat our heads against a wall till we learn the lesson. On the other hand, I have seen a "few" examples of groupthink. Groupthink which has been wrong. I say if you really believe it to be DD, then by all means, do what I did, send them in. If you score a hit, then you know your education is spot on. IF you have some misses then you know you need to study some more. Anacs has a special right now, send them in see what they say. Good luck, in either event.

Let me be clear the grading service did not label it as MD or DDD, they just did not confirm my belief in a couple of coins.

Hardfinds,
If you find a chocolate coin in a candy store, it is not actually a mint error, just letting you know.
