It seems there is a shortage of 2007 5c and 50c pieces. Here in Toowoomba, Queensland I have found 2 2007 5c in 2 days from looking through about 30 5c pieces. I haven't been looking for any 2007 50c, but anyway, it seems theres plenty of 2007 5c here. Why can't people find many/any in other places.

I think it was Nancy that was saying it has to do with demand.
I haven't done much searching in a while but the last 1000 5c I went through didn't have any 2007.

Picked up a bag of 2007 10 cent coins from the girls in the bank when they rang me to tell me they had some 2008 $2 and 20 cent coins put aside for me. I have only 3 x 2007 5 cent coins. And I have looked at a lot.

2007 5¢ are becoming a bit easier to find now. I'd have over 60, nothing too interesting except the tiny 'SD'initials on the reverse of one.

G'day, quote: "I'd have over 60, nothing too interesting except the tiny 'SD'initials on the reverse of one." does that imply that you have 59 WITHOUT the "SD" ? Peter

There are good reason why it seems to be a shortage - the base metal prices are so high that the metal prices for 5, 10 and 20 cents are almost worth their face value.

Peter, I wish! It means I have 1 with tiny 'SD' initials, the rest have 'normal' sized SD.
