I am interested what in knowing the best grading guide to use. I have seen the ANA grading guide,Photograde,A guide to grading by Brown and Dunn,How to grade coins by James L Halperin.
Are any of these better then the others for specific denominastions or series.
Thank you for any and all feedback.

I have found that having, and using, a couple of different guides really helps. In addition, one could scarcely do better than to hang out on this board and take advantage of following the various threads grading coins of series in which you are interested. Don't be shy about joining in...you'll learn more that way.

Back to the books...I like the ANA photograde book that I have, and that is my "go to" book for many series.

I go with the 2 book approach, & then post pics here to get other opinions. I use "Photograde", & "The Official ANA Grading Standards for United States coins".

ANA guide. However, the PCGS Grading/Counterfeit guide is pretty good. The ANA guide is a bit more thorough. I didn't know there was any others really out there that were recently published.

A new guide I like is 'Making the Grade' by Beth Deisher. It is based on the ANA grading standards, but the pictures are a lot better.

One drawback is that it is "A Grading Guide to the Top 25 Most Widely Collected U.S. Coins," so not all series are covered.
