This an upgrade to the one I already have.At least this one you can see the "WE" in IGWT.It does have a sheen too it,like someone put some olive oil,or something,on it.Would it hurt to use acetone on copper,or,would it be better to leave it alone?I can see a little grunge here and there in the protected areas.

My my someone did grease that up. I would try acetone for sure.

I like the grunge. Leave it be. I don't look at a lot of these but I would say this is an au coin.

Looks about AU to me, and I would try acetone to get rid of the oil. I'd probably leave the gunk in the crevices alone though.

Looks like it was cleaned and artificially toned. I'd be at AU-58 "details" on this one. Still a great coin for a type set.

AU, details, dipped, light mechanical (hand)rub, retoned.

Leave it as is. This has already been "worked" to look as good as it's going to get. Acetone may react with whatever else was used, so I'd even avoid that.

I would much rather have this coin than a "shiny" one. The prominent halo effect (dark in the cracks and crevasse, light in the open fields) is an indicator of rubbing where the rag or whatever material was used didn't get into those tighter spaces to clean down to the metal.

I still like this example.

I was on the fence about using acetone,and now,after talking to you all,I think I'll leave it be.I don't want to mess with it more than it has been already.
