Actually, this is nothing new. Most soap bars these days, start at about 7 bucks. It's been around for ages.
Hippocrates wrote of silver dressings, the medical field was using silver sutures in the early 1900s. Antibiotics changed all that. Lepersoriums in Manilla & elsewhere around '15 have used the soap almost exclusively.
With the advent of the web, it's taken on a new life. Now being praised in skin care product commercials.

I've never paid anywhere near $7 for a single bar of soap.

It's just a non-chemical anti-bacterial agent. Nothing new, just forgotten.

There are band aids with silver, too. How much? Who knows, but they are silver-colored instead of 'flesh-toned'.

About 35 or so years ago, my son burnt himself playing around with fireworks and part of his treatment was Silvadine Cream, which contains silver. No sign of where the burn was now.

The silver infused bandages made by Smith and Nephew are really great in stopping and healing large wounds, the US army uses a similar blood clotting gauze in the battle field kits.

I seem to recall that there was a stink a while ago that the Under Armor garments (which have silver to combat odors) were apparently putting silver into the sewage system, which was killing all of the bacteria used to treat the sewage water. Wouldn't this be even worse?
