Hello from a chilly New South Wales, Australia. I am new to this forum, so hello. Can anyone with more expertise than me identify this coin. It measures 18mm x 18mm (3/4 inch x 3/4 inch). It appears to be silver and is about 3mm thick. quite a substantial coin.

I have seen similar coins identified as Indian temple coins. Possibly Islamic in origin. That is what the writing on the coin suggests to me.

Any Help would be appreciated,

Kwl

@cp1, first welcome to CCF. Second, while this isn't my area of expertise, I agree with your assesment of this being a temple token/copy of square rupee. See this link for a similar piece (with a different date):

Others will be around later today and provide more expert insight.
