Ive been looking for one of these for my type set for a while. I only have one other Seated dollar, an 1864 thats not in great shape. The 7070 album has been in need of an upgrade for a while. What would you grade and value this coin at? These are the sellers pictures. Not the best, can't tell about the surfaces, but it looks free of any major marks and dings.

It does not have a natural look for a 157 year old coin. Polished to death and although not an expert, when a coin looks off, I question it's authenticity in this day and age of counterfeiting.

I would have to see this one in hand or at least see some difference pics. It could go two ways. ms-62 and an absolute beauty or a 58 that has been polished and photos doctored. I see what looks like rub on liberty's right shoulder. 60-o's are fairly prevalent in mint state. But those normally are slabbed by a TPG. Because it's raw, makes me think someone is trying to pull a fast one on you.

Proof surfaces but they didn't produce proofs with the O mintmark. I would be surprised if this is an authentic coin. Sorry but I would get a second opinion on it.

Thanks everyone for your input. I didn't buy it, but I was thinking about bidding on it. It sold for about $600 which is low-mid AU pricing.

Someone did not know what they were doing. I'd value it at around $400 and still pass at that price. This is not a coin I'd buy to keep.
EDIT: I'd prefer an original high-grade coin with a hole over a high-grade coin that had been harshly cleaned. It also helps that the former is usually a lot cheaper. To me, a hole is easier on the eyes than a harsh cleaning.

I wouldn't have touched it. There are far too many good coins that deserve my coin budget. That was a brillo pad job.
