1968 Dime - Foreign Planchette Or PMD?

This 1968 dime, non-magnetic, has a raised rim all around it. It's pretty beat up but I've seen beat up dimes before and they don't have this weird rim. Wrong planchette or PMD?

(I don't have a scale but I'll try to get it weighed at the post office or something later)

@flanders8008, could be a so-called Dryer Coin. Can you please post a pic of the edge?

I agree with Spence - with the wear on the surfaces and the rim being raised like that it indeed looks like a Dryer Coin!

It almost looks like it my have been a piece of jewelry. Like on a charm bracelet. Can you tell of the coin is not a part of the rim? I've seen coins encased in rims like that.

I think Spence is correct, it's a Dryer Coin. Thanks for the education, I know now what that hallmarks of a Dryer Coin are!

Your coin, being non-magnetic tells us that it is a silver coin. Made up of 50% silver and 50% copper.
The coin may weigh slightly less than it's normal weight of 2.33 grams.
