I recently purchased a 1956 Franklin half dollar graded by ANACS a MS-66. I bought it with no indications on the holder of the variety but I can confirm it is a DDO-002 2-O-VI by the die chips in the E of Liberty. My question is what would the value of a coin like this be?

You can't confirm a Variety with markers alone. You must be able to see the Variety. Can you post a picture?

I should have also verified that there is doubling in the date and Trust. I just would like to know the value of such a coin.

Thread bump. I really would like to know if anyone would happen to have info on the value of my coin, perhaps in a recent Cherry Pickers Guide.

A regular 56 Franklin in MS65 is around $40. I suppose you know there are different types of doubling. It seems to me ANACS would have noted a DDO. If yours is the 002 as you say, it would be worth more depending on the die stage. Without pics it's hard to say what the value is.

I'd want to see pics before I'd venture a guess.

Here are the pictures. They are the best I could do. I did some research and it appears that the coin is a stage C die looking at the die file lines.

I think someone has switched coins for this case. If this coin is MS 66 as the case says, I'll eat my hat, if I had a hat. Hopefully Koinpro will give you his opinion, he knows best.

Nobody has switched coins with this holder. My goodness I didn't realize how much of a pain it would be to get an idea for the value of such a coin. You people are hard to please.

We're not that difficult. Your pictures were only posted 3 hours ago. There are experts that stop in here from time to time. Koinpro was here, but no pictures. A little patience, and I think it'll be worth your wait.

There are some listed on ebay. There's a wide price range. one is a MS 65 for $150. Here's a link, it should give you an idea as to the value.

I'm sorry for the impatience. I thought the coin could be looked up in a Cherry Pickers Guide of some sort but I guess this variety isn't that easy to find. Thank you guys for the input so far.

It's not that hard to find it in several guides that just show and describe coins. The guides that list with prices mainly show the major Doubled Dies. You can find the Variety at this link:
http://www.doubleddie.com/352322.html
As far as value goes, guides are just that - "guides". None of them claim to be dead center on their value, they kind of keep you in the ball park. As I'm sure you know, the profoundness of the variety coupled with the rarity and condition of the coin, play major roles in determining how desirable it is. Ultimately, only you can set the value on your coin. Sometimes you can find a similar coin listed in a guide that suggests prices, and kind of go by that.
