Well, this is the time to start the new topic regarding RCM coming coins. Next Second World War Battlefront - The Bombing War. Interesting that the price in subscription is $89.95. However, single coin is $92.95. Next Locomotives Across Canada - GE ES44AC Next Glistening North (I think) - Wolf Next Canadian Honours - Cross of Valour Next Big Coin Series: Alex Colville Designs - One Cent Rock Dove Next Sculpture of Majestic Canadian Animals - Wolf (possibly in September) Fraction 4 Gold Coin Set - $1 1/20 oz, $5 1/10 oz, $10 1/4 oz, $50 1 oz. In a maple leaf shaped wooden box. Selective Rhodium Plated(?) $100 gold coin. Looks like carved smoked wood - black surface and gold inner part. First Nations Theme (?). $200 Maple Leaf shaped Gold Coin. The reverse has amazing red/gold transition, at least on the picture. Wooden box. $150 Year of the Dog Gold Coin $30 coin, looks fantastic! A house in a marvellous, colourful garden. A stony path (silver) goes from the house to the openwork fence in a foreground. The highlight is that the fence is a separate convex piece on the coin. Fraction 4 Silver Coin Set - $2 1/10 oz, $2 1/4 oz, $4 1/2 oz, $5 1 oz. In a regular box. $20 Maple Leaf shaped Selective Gold Plated Coin. Regular box. 7 silver coin set. 2 coins are gold plated $20 and 1 cent. The last item, with the 1 cent coin - isn't it 'WoW'? And Fraction Silver set - maybe this time RCM will surprise with the great designs? (like back in time platinum and silver sets)

Think you probably should credit MTS/Coins4fun for that post eh? lol
Would like more information on the seven coin set.
If they actually produce a 2017 one cent copper with standard specs, that would be huge.

You right, CC-Ottawa my post has included 2 lines with "thank you" words, and mentioning the source. But looks like it has been edited, since mentioned the above.

Quote: What are the coins? A normal 7 coins set would be toonie, loonie, 50 cent, 25 cent, 10 cent, 5 cent and 1 cent, right? So what is the $20 reference?

Yes that's possible. It could be a tribute to 1967 but would think that would have been noted in the 'leak'.
Guess we'll have to wait and see.

When I first saw reference to the seven-coin silver set, I immediately thought of a dual-date (1967-2017) tribute set featuring Colville's original 1967 commemorative designs for the cent through dollar coins paired with a gold-plated silver coin of the same design as the 1967 (non-Colville) $20 gold coin (to make the set more affordable).
Such a set would likely feature a 36mm silver dollar (to mimic the original) and thus be on my purchase list!
(Note: All speculation on my part...but here's hoping!)

I swear I didn't see the ebay listing for the new 7-coin set until just now - nearly two hours after my post above. Looks like I got one right! I'll be a buyer!

The 7-coin set, as I recall that's what many of us here wished for - a commemorative set of Alex Colville's designs in the original size. The gold plating makes it affordable. RCM got this one exactly right and I'll also look forward to adding it to my collection.

I don't know the mintage but the cost of advance ordering of the Centennial commemorative set on ebay is $279.95, pretty well guaranteed to include a seller markup as opposed to buying directly from RCM or one of their authorized dealers. Only guessing, I'd say $249.95.

Good one, agree. For more affordability, RCM could do the base metal version, where only the $20 is gold-plated pure silver coin. My guess will be 10K-15K, priced ~CAD 200 If to "go with the minimum" and commemorate this year with quality proof coin sets, one should get: New designs set (available in Silver and base) Traditional designs (I think, only silver available) 1967-2017 design And if really need to choose - looks like the latest is the 'winner' (most attractive, imo, and interesting), and other two could be picked up later (or just get the Un-Circulated sets) So....the bottom line of all 'blah-blah' above - smart RCM's move, good set.

Based on previous 2017 Proof Sets, the price should be either $229.95 or $234.95.
Mintage will be 20,000 or 25,000

As Mints' NCLT flagship items (Silver Dollars , Annual Proof sets), RCM made correct step, issuing the set as not-limited edition. I also guess, that really a lot of the sets will be open and coins sent to be graded, specially $20 coin and the Silver Dollar. Together with this, most probably, the set will be slowly slowly dropping in the value, means: be sure that you buy it as keeper for yourself or gift.
