[I originally planned to post this small rant in the pinned thread on the Photobucket forum, but decided that Suggestions and Feedback was a better place for it.
Mods: if you think there's another better place for it - definitely move!]
So, apparently, the "my previous uploads" tab had recently disappeared from the Upload Image window. (Which doesn't appear to have been mentioned in Announcements and Updates, incidentally.)
As such, how do I add old uploaded images to new posts? It used to have a convenient button next to each image, but now, as far as I can tell, I'd have to manually copy everything. As it happens, I never had an opportunity to use the old system on a mobile device, so I don't have anything to compare with, but it looks like it's going to be even more inconvenient for those (because copying and pasting on mobiles is a pain).
At this point it might well be more convenient for me (in some situations) to find the original file (if it's still on my computer, but many of them are) and upload it separately than to use the new "previous uploads" page. I'll try to avoid doing that, because it's an obvious waste of site resources, but it does appear to be somewhat easier (note: I hadn't actually checked).
The image posting tutorial still shows the old system, by the way (so doesn't help with my question).
And, um, any idea why it was changed? It's worked just fine in the old way as far back as I can remember. (Also, even if there are, in fact, any benefits to the separate window - e.g. the new system makes it easier to tell similar old images apart - why not allow either access method?)

Do I understand it correctly that (most of) the old convenient features will eventually also appear in the new system, and I just need to hold off on posting old uploaded files for a few days?
The paging is more of a minus for me though - if I want to find a particular coin I uploaded, unless I remember exactly when it happened, I'd need to check most of the pages anyway (which means even more loading than in the old system).
BTW, entirely unrelated, so I might well open another thread for it (if I do, I'll probably edit that out of this post), but - why did 90% of all contests end up in the "ended" subforum? I didn't find any announcement for that either.
That includes my own contest, by the way (which is most assuredly not ended, just on hiatus because nobody posted any guesses in a while... which will of course continue forever if people think it's ended*).
I guess it might have been too unofficial of a contest, however (in particular, there was no explicit description of a prize, because it was non-monetary, and I wanted it to remain a mystery for a while).
*) not actually forever, because I do have a definite ending date in mind even for the case where nobody guesses correctly, but it's more than two years away, and I'd rather prefer to actually receive some guesses in that two-year period

Quote: (which means even more loading than in the old system). It most certainly doesn't, the old method loaded every single image you ever uploaded every single time. The last post in the topic was 06/28/2016, over a year ago. Sure it got moved during a Staff cleanup. Any contest or buy, sell, or trade topic would.

I have had no problems of any kind adding old uploaded images to a post.
Where I've had a problem is adding NEW images in the revised system, in my case of paper money, where I find that direct pics only produce a distorted image.

Quote: It most certainly doesn't, the old method loaded every single image you ever uploaded every single time. Okay, so it's less loading if I intend to post multiple old photos (which is usually the case - both obverse and reverse, for example). Didn't think of that, sorry. Quote: The new method sorts exactly like the old method so I don't understand this comment at all. It means that in the old method I was assured that the image I wanted was somewhere on that long list, and I could narrow it down by vaguely recalling close-in-time images, or just scroll through everything and still get there eventually. Meanwhile, in the new method, I have to click through most of the pages until I hit the correct picture (and if I end up not noticing it accidentally - which is much easier when they're not all in one convenient column - I need to go all the way back again). BTW, right now, the new system reports that I have 4 pages of uploads for a total of 132 images, but page 4 is completely empty. (Also, the last image of a page is also the first image of the next page, but that might well be working as designed - it conveniently allows the obverse and reverse of the same coin to be always on the same upload page if uploaded consecutively. Or it might be an off-by-one error.) Quote: The last post in the topic was 08/31/2016, almost a year ago. Sure it got moved during a Staff cleanup. Any contest or buy, sell, or trade topic would. If so, how do I petition that it has not technically ended yet? Or is the correct response to open a new thread and link to the old one? I kind of doubt that there are actually only 6 active contests right now - surely there are others that were moved while still being technically open...

Oh my Lord I just looked, you have 132 images on FOUR measly pages. Sorry I made it so horrible for you. I'm going to bed.

@bobby131313 - it wasn't horrible, just a bit inconvenient (and most of the inconvenience wasn't in the paging - I didn't even notice the paging when I posted my original rant). If anything, now that I think of it, the paging might actually make it a little better. And yes, in retrospect, the old system wasn't perfect either (but I still miss the buttons). Also I might have been feeling a lack of sleep @Coinfrog - if you don't mind me asking, how exactly did you add previously uploaded images? The tutorial still seems to use the old version...

january - not sure I appreciate the depth of your question, I'm no techie for sure. I'm just saying that any image I specifically enhanced for the CCF and saved to my photo file over the past two years, prior to the new system, can still be uploaded with no problem.

I like the new system better than the previous one, mainly because I find it easier to navigate. Instead of looking through all of my already-uploaded pictures to find something I need, I can just type CtrlF on my keyboard, type in a keyword in the file name, then be taken to the picture right away. For some reason, CtrlF did not work for me with the old system. On problem I did find, however, is with the copying and pasting. Copying everything between [img] and the end-img thing only gives me a small white square, rather than the image I want. To fix that, https://www.coincommunity.com/forum needs to be typed in right after the [img].

Image links seem to work now, thanks!
[Picture I was testing this with deleted from the post.]
Cleanly copying the image link is still a pain, though - I missed a few symbols the first time (and there's no indication that this is what you're supposed to do, either).

I'll be working on a nice search function today. Also now, once you start a new session here, if you're on mobile it should show 50 per page, if not it should show 200 per page. If you want to test it you can end your session by clicking here... https://www.coincommunity.com/endsession.aspIt won't appear to do anything but it does.
