Yes, nice selection coinmaster. I think I once heard those chips on the roof referred to as "snow on the roof".

Thanks ya'll, glad you like them. The first one is definitely my favorite. I think the second one is a real nugget! On the die, the little man moves around at night when the mint is closed and is actually responsible for all the chips on all the denominations. The third one is the nickel's answer to the Beehive cent. Of course the fourth one is the designer's first initial, (Ivan). I too, have heard the last one called that, USSID18. If there are any 1%ers out there, I should explain some of this was in jest.

@CoinMasters - what date was your nickel? I just found a 2012-P with a chip in the same location.

Mine's a 2012 as well Mark. I think they're from different dies though, yours is longer at the bottom, yet not yet as tall as mine.

Well, pretty cool anyway to have such a similar error on the same dated nickel.

I agree. It makes me wonder, almost too much of a coincidence to have two errors like this on different dies in the same year, when I've never seen it in another year. It's definitely two different dies, mine could progress to the west, but neither could progress or regress vertically to match the other. I think possibly the horizontal adjustment on the die was slightly out of adjustment putting extra pressure in that area for both dies.

CoinMasters, nice Die Chips! The second one I would call it the "Nose Booger" Variety.
Errers and Varietys.

Quote: Nice one Tom, that area must be a weak spot on the newer dies. but really I can't remember finding another like that..... Thanks Mark. I really don't know myself. I know one thing. Over the years, Philly seems to be the Mint with the greatest quality control problems. I should start a survey just for the heck of it. Asking the question: What U.S. Mint in your opinion has the most quality control issues; mint error, anomalies, packaging errors, etc?...
