90% silver Kennedy in BU/UNC condition might be worth $10/each.
90% Kennedy circulated condition might be slightly higher than melt value, or $7/each (seems reasonable)
40% Kennedy halves are not that popular, IMO. So, at the melt value, even lower.

Edit: I guess you have to add pawn shop owner's margin to be fair. After all, he is running a business and has a overhead cost.

Usually, in my experience, Pawn shop = either a great deal on unattributed item - or ripoff on everything else.

I check for silver coins in a pawn shop frequently. He usually has a few 90% Roosevelts and occasionally Mercurys and Kennedys.

I asked him what day of the week was he most likely to get silver coins. He said no particular day of the week, but more importantly late in the month and shortly after a silver price uptick. I was thinking late Friday or early Saturday to finance weekend plans. Confirmed what I suspected all along - I don't know what I'm doing.

I have found pawn shops hit or miss.
I am not in one often but I always check to see what they have available.

At today's silver price (about $16.50) 10.00 is very high. look around you will find '64 kennedys for $7 or slightly under

His overhead cost is Chumlee, and he gets paid plenty from the show. I've been to the pawn shop in Vegas once and it was a zoo.

Going back to the original question from OP, I've never had any worthwhile buy from a pawn shop.

Way too high if you ask me. You can find them on ebay near spot if you buy enough of them.
