Coin masters, it is a lot of fun making them, I just don't get into the fancy framing...yet

She was a real lady Mark. This is a copy of one of the Master's paintings. Women of her time period coveted her stature. We live hundreds of years apart, but I fell in love with her the moment I saw her. I left her wedding ring off in my edition. I tell everyone it's on the dresser behind her. lol My initials are on the chair (artistic license).

Hey that is great - you have some really good detail in that painting and you did an excellent job on the face - Mine would look more like your drawing on the 1936 coin.

I knew you noticed that CC. I believe you could do a much better job than the drawing. Thanks Coconutjoe.

Thanks for the vote of confidence - But an Artist I am Not. My youngest son is an amazing artist - he draws cartoon/ Anime style and they are incredible (at least to me) - his imagination, creativity and abilities came from my hubby's side of the family - they are actual Artists that sell their creations.

Very interesting. Cartoons are a good place to start. I started with comic book characters, and took lessons via mail from Norman Rockwell and others. I pursued the Fine Arts in my first two years in college, before realizing many of my classmates would probably make me starve to death. Like yours, my son inherited the gene. The appreciation of art and the eye for detail that goes with it, are main reasons I'm into coins. Every coin is a work of art. Is there a work as majestic as a Jefferson nickel (not the moderns)? Or as beautiful as either side of a Standing Liberty quarter? I think not. My son did not inherit my interest in coins though, nor did any other family members. He does throw them in a jar though and I go through them. I search them, roll them, and take them to the bank for him. I pay him face for anything valued at $5 or less, and split anything over that with him. It's win win for both of us.
