Looking to verify if this is a DDR 1996 penny.

There's definitely lots of some type of doubling on America. It also shows on the D in United as well as the N and T in Cent

I'm assuming there is always the chance this is some strange type of Die deteriation however, the devices seem enlarged to me.

Thoughts?

I'm learning (slowly) also. But, Die Deterioration will cause enlarging of the devices. The flat "shelves" on the lettering is a sign of Strike Doubling as well. Now, the exact type of MD depends on how the devices have shifted. The experts will be along to offer more details.

I see Strike Doubling on America and possibly some Die Deterioration on cent. Sorry, I don't see a doubled Die. Have you checked this site out?

Careful, it's habit forming.
