Mark1959, it's weird because you can see the struck through on the "D" in "GOD". It breaks for some reason. I think maybe whatever it was struck through might of broke during the strike maybe. It is just a guess what I said in this comment. I'm no pro, but have a lot of knowledge. :)

@e&v, thanks for your explanation. @CCL, nice work going through old threads on this subject. I found @coop's post most educational:

http://goccf.com/t/283863

On his post, none of the struck through errors that crossed letters had the same interrupted pattern as the OP's coin, but as E&V points out, the wire or whatever might have broken during the striking process. I think that a super close-up view might be helpful, but either way I've learned a bunch from this thread. Thanks!

Need coop. I think it is PSD. Maybe an ink pen pressed down really hard?

Since the line "jumps" between the field and the letter devices, I am inclined toward PSD, but I'll defer to experts like Coop.

Third Pic. down clearly shows the excess metal pushed out of the trench, struck through remains incused with no excess metals flowing about.

looks like a fine point pen pressed down hard. Probably a bored student in class.

It is a struck through wire/thread/fiber. If it were a coin scratch, it would probably be more straight. Also the ends of the anomaly are bot blunt. This would not happen on a coin scratch. It would have continued. So it is a struck through item, not PSD. Nice find.
