My milestone contest is on! Thanks everyone for making this place such an interesting diversion!

Here's my milestone prize—a very interesting bit of detailed reading:
Don Taxay's The U.S. Mint and Coinage: An Illustrated History from 1776 to the Present.

New-Milestone-Contest-Is-On!

Select one answer for each question:

1. Which famous American is credited with design elements of the Fugio Cent?
a) Thomas Jefferson
b) Alexander Hamilton
c) Benjamin Franklin

2. Who was the designer of coin designs including the Flying Eagle cent, Indian Head cent and the Shield nickel?
a) Samuel Barber
b) Christian Gobrecht
c) James Longacre

Perhaps more of a toughie:

3. The "annular cent" patterns of the mid-1800s are distinguished by:
a) Liberty with a feather headdress
b) A hole in the middle of the coin
c) An shielded eagle and cotton bolls on the reverse.

Harder still:

4. "Goloid" was a term coined to describe.
a) A proposed coinage alloy of gold and silver
b) a gold-platinum pattern coin
c) A new gold refining process at the US Mint

The first one who answers all four answers correctly wins the book!
Good luck!
