Hello,
I came across a nickel in my gas station change that has no defined markings on either side. The date looks like 1970's, possibly 1974. Initially I thought it was coated with an epoxy, but after a solvent bath, it became clear that there is no coating. There is also no color distortion as would be evidenced buy heating with a torch, and both main images do have depth, just no clear detail.

DrtyD!

It looks like a Dryer Coin. Check out this presentation by Earle42 (very cool):

If the coin is a bit light in weight, then it was polished off the coin with a buffing wheel. If the weight is normal, I lean towards a dryer/rock polisher coin. PSD altered coin. spendable
