Large S . You can tell by the thickness of the center of the S . The small S is thinner .

Then according to coop's side by side it would be the Small "S" - right?

You see the tail of the s on the small s kind of swings out, where the large s you can almost put the whole mintmark in a rectangular box.
I believe it to be a small s. The large s really jumps out at you and there is little question when you see it and compare to others.

Looks like a circulation flattened large 'S' to me. Note the top loop of the 'S'. The small 'S' has a flat area on the upper loop. The OP's coin looks curved like the Large 'S' from what I can see.

Ok ,this is getting confusing now . Coop did you MEAN to say it looks like a small S flattened by circulation . If so then that makes sense , I forgot about the window .

No, a flattened large 'S'. The shape of the top loop doesn't look like a small 'S'.

Ok , I can see that ,but according to your illustration the bottom of a large S is below the window . Laura's S is even with the window which your image shows is a small S .

That thar is a small s. Look at the top loop its skinny like the small s. Look at the bottom loop its fat like the small s. The complete opposite of the large. No amount of wear can make those flip. Plus, it's less serif than the large and more round at the ends like the small s. Small S FTW!
