Hi...my name is Kama and I am from California. I inherited an old, partially filled book of wheat pennies, I've had it for years and never paid any attention to it until my mother decided to put a penny floor in her house. So we started collecting pennies for this project and our design was to use all new pennies with a border of the old wheatback pennies. Out of boredom one day I decided to look and see if any of the pennies in that book might be worth something before we forever encased them in our floor. while none of the pennies in that book are valuable, at least as far as I can tell, I was shocked at how much coins could be worth, especially newer coins. So I decided to not put the wheatback pennies in the floor and started casually hunting for a new wheatbacks to pennies to try and complete the book I had inherited. And now I am obsessed with going through everyone's change jars and the take a penny leave a penny bowls in stores, looking for not only old pennies but any sort of interesting coin. Right now I am busy going through my fathers change box, looking through hundreds of pennies and nickels for any errors or valuable coins. So far I have found an Ike dollars that is slightly odd that I will use as the topic for my first post in the appropriate forum.

I look forward to hopefully gaining more knowledge on coins through this forum because right now I would describe my knowledge on coins as minimal at best, I was a little overwhelmed when I realized how much there to know about coins. I look forward to learning more...

Cheers,
Kama
