Any assistance in regards to grading and/or value is appreciated.

I did my best with photo quality.

Coin has nice eye appeal in hand.

Thank you!

If it's real, it ought to be worth it's weight in gold. It looks to be uncirculated (of proof?).

(Is this the same coin from the other thread?)

This is not an official coin, but rather a bullion restrike. The set-off here, aside from just its suspiciously near-flawless appearance, is the date (1914 is the last year for this type). As for value: I would guess whatever the melt value of this thing is.

Thank you both.

#1 The 2 Ducats I posted are different coins.

#2 Yes, I know the 1914s are restrikes and from what I've read are at least worth their weight in gold.

#3 I do not have an understanding of what is meant specifically by "re-strike". I would like to get more info on it.

thank you again.

I meant 1915 not 1914. Oops.

Reading the link you provided for more info now.

"All the ducats dated 1915 are restrikes, of which there were 996,721 struck between 1920 and 1936. One ducat coins dated 1915 are still being produced by the Austrian Mint as official restrikes."

I went on the Austrian Mint's website and sure enough they are selling 1915 dated 1 ducats fresh from being minted.

I thought I got a great deal today and now I feel pretty darn stupid. I let my guard down and didn't do my research.

The majority of these are proof-like. I would grade this one MS-63. It's a bullion coin so multiply the spot price of gold by the AGW and it will give you a value. AGW on this one is .1107 oz pure gold.
