Hey neighbors, I am new member D.Fortune and I can honestly say that this is the most excited I have ever been about anything....ever..lol This is truly the universe of coin collecting. I will try and take my time but I have so many questions and I see that we figure it out as a whole unit. I think this is a very beautiful thing. Btw I'm from Louisiana by way of Alabama, Family man,a U.S.veteran, Devoted Christian, and I Love everyone. With that being said I am very happy to be apart of this group...Thanks again, I think I'm gonna go and finish reading the rest of the rules and tutorials before I post a pic of a 1973 penny which was actually the way I stumbled upon you guys...Love Yall.... One quick question though, Is there a curfew of this forum? because if not I'm about to be in the "doghouse"...lol

hey neighbors, I have been taking in a lot of info the past couple of days from this forum. But to be completely honest I would not consider myself the most computer savvy guy, although I head a considerably large household and we have tons of connected devices within our network. I have always rather read a book for my research. I find this to be tons more engaging and helpful for my love of coin collecting. I welcome any helpful advice offered concerning my transitioning out of the stone ages. lol.....for starters, like I said earlier this is my first forum of any sorts so I really dont know if I should stay here with my questions or could I just jump in on a question or comment that is on topic from another member...Secondly I was wondering what you guys use to look at your coins. I.E. magnifying glass, loupe, or whatever it may be because I just don't see the doubling on coins that I truly suspect to be errors...I see something different but not enough to have a semi assurance. I would like to attempt to post a pick or two of a few questionable s Ive been looking at for awhile with the hopes of getting a better idea of what I'm looking for....I have read a lot of info of the nature of error coins so I have the knowledge of what they are I just want to go to the next level as you guys are...Thanks and sorry so long but I just want to learn more

Look at how the forum sections are setup. and try to ask your questions in the proper sections. For Example: Lincoln cents in US Modern coins, Indian Head cents in US Classic coins, world coins in their respective sections, and if you are asking for a evaluation on a coin's grade, use its sub section for grading. Usually starting out with a magnifying glass is common. Adding a loupe of power 20x if you need to see finer details. Adding electronic microscopes MAY come later if your interest sparks. Don't get everything all at once. Pace your equipment purchases with your needs.

to the Family fortune13! Quote: 3:00 AM and it's lights out around here! That's a joke. Maybe in his time zone. If it were 3 AM Eastern, I'd have half the posts I do. No curfew. This is international! Quote: I really dont know if I should stay here with my questions or could I just jump in on a question or comment that is on topic from another member Coin specific questions should be posted as a "New Topic" in the appropriate forum. I'm sure you've seen that there are different forums for different coins whether Modern or Classic US, Canadian, Australian, UK, World, Ancient, etc. This post is only for introducing yourself. The Mods are very helpful in moving topics to the appropriate forum but, you should learn where to post questions based on the coin. As far as magnification for viewing coins, use the forum search box first because there are countless topics with answers about that. Otherwise, that's a question that should be posted as a new topic in the "Main Coin Forum". I hope that all makes cents.

Thanks friends for the welcomes & responses. Yes I did understand the idea of different forums and "new topic", vaguely...I have read all of the rules & regs prior to my second post. I just wanted to know which had the best chance of getting noticed if I was to ask a question, say for instance if I had a question on a 95 error coin and searching found that someone just created the topic a couple days ago my guess is I could reply there. And how did you make those quotes SPRUETT001, because I cant seem to figure out the different posting and replying methods, which are not like any account I have..I.E. facebook...but I will continue to read. Thanks again the quote was awesome, if I can relate to anything we can talk quotes...lol
