I'm having a hard time dealing with glare on new shield cents. Does anyone have a method that smooths out that glare on new coins when looking through a loupe or magnifying glass?

Thanks
Mitch

What is your light source? If the bulb is too strong you can get un-needed glare. If you need the light power, then you might want to create a diffusion blocker to remove unwanted glare.

If the bulb is hot, make sure that the paper doesn't touch it and cause a fire.

The type of light makes a difference. Try lighting to find what works best for you. Include direct and indirect sunlight, too.

But be careful not to start a fire with flammable paper next to a hot bulb.

Better, softened up those edges. Haven't started a fire yet!
Thanks

Never thought of wax paper, good idea. I agree the pain my eyes suffer trying to search the shields is pretty much not worth it. Horrible glare and practically impossible to get good pictures. I am will to try anything :)

If you are trying to take pictures, it might be better to turn of the light and just go with the flash on your device, or LED light from a microsope.

Flash is too strong. For micro images, a single light source is better. If you have a LED with multiple lights, then it removes the light and shadow that makes for better images.
