to CCF. Looks like a Grease Filled Die issue. Full coin pic obverse and reverse might help.

My best guess would be from die-polishing. It could also be struck-through grease but, that area on the reverse is prime real estate for over-polishing.

@htm, first welcome to CCF. Second, regardless of whether your coin is the result of being Struck Through Grease or an over-polished die, the value is still one cent. Interesting to keep if you want, but definitely spendable.

Struck Through Grease is most likely, but it could also be over polished. Not severe enough to bring extra value. Worth 1 cent. But, don't give up. Keep searching and eventually, you will have something good come up. :)

I agree about the reverse die polishing - if you search cent rolls you will see that alot!!
