Nice one John! Is this one going to end up in TPG holder?

Some day will make the trip to PCGS, and holder the good raw coins, just don't see many errors in this era of 5 cents

The scyphate shape may prevent it from going into a slab.
It would be worth a try however, because it would help with authentication.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't a capped die curve the opposite way (i.e., concave)?

Yours looks like it is a convex curve?

Unless it was a reverse cap itself for a few strikes...

Could it be a quite late stage struck-through die-cap?

Thanks for sharing! It's rare to see errors for this series. If you can, please post better pictures of the obverse.

The reverse image quality is fine but the more important obverse image is blurry. I am not sure I even know what I am looking at.

The image is not great but I have concerns.

My gut tells me that someone placed this coin reverse side down on some kind of holder (like say the end of a round dowel with the diameter of a 5 cent coin) and then "worked" the coin.....maybe polishing, grinding, hammering etc.

Is the planchet missing metal? What does it weigh?

Looks questionable to me. I would expect to see the image of the king more mushy & spread-out than it is - considering the legends are obliterated.

Have you weighed the piece?

It looks fishy to me too. It looks like someone might of altered the coin to look like that.
