Must agree, whether the problem is AT, ED or partial cleaning (or some combination).

I agree the coin looks authentic. I also think it may have been whizzed. That might be what gives the odd (matte) appearance of the surfaces. They also look incredibly free of blemishes and whizzing helps smooth out little ticks and scratches. Mix in some artificial toning and you get this coin.

@Chester, look at 11 and 12 o clock on the obverse. That's ED, whizzing would have probably removed it.

I think we need emojis with happy dudes flying mint state flags, unhappy dudes waving a dull flag for cleaning, and angry dudes pulling their own ears off for damage to a legendary coin, etc.

I see that now Mike...thanks. I was looking at the other images that show the matte finish across the coin. It's hard telling what's going on without seeing it in person.
