Ok very good. Thx @pt. This will be a matching challenge. See below for a Royal Arch Mason token from the Farmington Maine Chapter. You will get one point each for posting your coin/token with the following: 1. The words "one penny" ("1 Penny" is also acceptable) 2. The date 1879, even if it doesn't refer to when it was made 3. The word "Maine" or its abbreviation (ME) 4. An image of a shovel 5. An image of a pick axe 6. Smoke 7. Any mention or symbology of free masonry not mentioned above Counterstamps are acceptable too. An exact match for this token will be worth 8 points. Please only post your highest-point entrant. It has been a while since anyone posted to it, but here is a link to our post something Masonic thread: http://goccf.com/t/339957

Well your contest is so hard that its impossible to get more than 1 or 2 marks.
I was going to show my 1879 British penny, but its so worn all you can see is half of 1879 and the NN from Penny.
I suggest a less difficult quest next time - I mean you chose a one off token from terra obscuris.

It may be very hard to get 8 points but there are plenty of options for lower point coins

That probably makes it less worn than mine - which was admittedly selected for its wear... This coin is, like most of my other British pennies, part of my 1860-1894 lowball date set; the set is still missing some of the scarcer dates, and a few of the later dates, but 1879 is neither scarce nor sufficiently late. Obligatory-ish shot of the entire set so far: The 1879 could (just barely) be seen as the leftmost coin of the second bottom row; the lighting makes it look a lot more worn than it actually is.

January1May - you are right, my penny is ever so slightly less worn than yours, but if it helps my lowball set is less complete than yours and is ruined by the occasional better penny that has a full silhouette of the queen and Britannia. Here is my lowball family and I have added the 1895 - 99 pennies as a contrast. even more hilarious is my 1860 is decent and hence why I can't answer when someone asks me which variety my 1861 penny is. Thanks to you I may show the thing, I did take a photo of iot after all, althought it was 4.45pm on a gloomy day where sunset is 5.10pm (Its midwinter here).

Updated leaderboard: @bd251: 1 point @jbuck: 1 point @k12: 1 point @j1m: 1.5 points (can't see ONE PENNY on this particular example) @pep: 1 point @gc43: 2 points With regard to how hard to make these challenges, I'm glad that sometimes we have ones that are really hard while other times, it seems like everyone has a match. I was flabbergasted when several other folks could match my Chuck E Cheese token from the '80s and state tax tokens with multiple cut-outs. I was actually thinking that his current challenge might be too easy, but I guess not. Either way, I'll plan to wrap up things tomorrow evening as we have hit six participants.

Here's my 1879 Penny Hopefully I will get my full 2 points as NN is visible and you know it can't be a half penny or farthing. Spence you notice your challenges not landing and Chuck E cheese tokens, you forget 96% of the world population is not from the USA and many of us are NOT Americans and thus American culture is not that popular or known in many countries. Notice how all my challenges have a truly International focus, unlike the Amerocentrism that is far too apparent on this site. It's part of the reason I post so much here, when the far we go back thread is littered with Morgan dollars and double eagles to the preclusion of everything else. This planet exists beyond the United States. No disrespect but just an opinion.
