Looks like I will be sitting out another round.
Thread has gotten a bit too far afield, i-m-o.
..Coins made of coal ?
Please don't tell the Trump folks.. they might decide to redesign the entire US coinage series-!

. While I can appreciate trying to change it up for something a little different, I personally think an exact/approximate match point system on multiple criteria allows for more participation as opposed to a scale based on a single aspect of a coin. You can always add a fourth condition to match above and beyond date, country, denomination and make it out of 8 points. Or even use three different criteria all together with points for exact/approximate match. Some that come to mind are size, weight, composition, mintage, location minted. This is what made the game fun for me. Trying to find a coin in my collection to get the closest match ever if it was only one or two points. That's just my opinion.

I agree with bd251, definitely allows for more participation. For now, I must find something for this round.

It seems that pepactonius is the current leader. I have a nonmetallic "token" that did have real "monetary value", so I'm not sure whether it should be counted as a token or coin. I'll have to post it to find out.

Think of it as expanding horizons. It is supposed to be a challenge, after all.

That's what has been presented. Multiple options are available to post even though there is a single requirement for entries: nonmetallic. What that tells me is that I need to expand my collection a bit. I did the same thing before and no one complained. Remember the large, aluminum, octagonal soap token?

Well, I decided to wait until near the end to put my posting in.

It is an exact match.

Yet-Another-Forum-Game---Numismatic-Go-Fish!
Yet-Another-Forum-Game---Numismatic-Go-Fish!

I did not "steal" this image! You can see that it has a different number scratched on the back, #1153.

I got this at a FUN show a number of years ago. I forget what it cost, but it was not cheap, maybe $50-100?

Now I do not know if this is acceptable to everyone, but I would like to donate my "turn" to @jbuck, who has been quite supportive, even though he does not often have something to present. I think that maybe many would like a change.

I am incline to agree with Spruett that since it is supposed to be a "challenge", there should not be an issue with one requirement. Actually, given how many "wooden nickels" there are in the US, I would have thought that everyone would have one as part of a box of oddities. Also, those US sales tax tokens-many of them are fiber or plastic.

Here's my most interesting one.

Vulcanized fiber OPA Blue Point token:

Yet-Another-Forum-Game---Numismatic-Go-Fish!

During WWII, the U.S. implemented a rationing program in which stamps were issued based on need. Goods would be paid for with normal currency, but the stamps ensured that people were only allowed to purchase what they needed. A problem arose at the beginning when the goods did not equal the stamp amount and shopkeepers issued the difference in currency. Since the stamps themselves had no monetary value, OPA then issued these tokens to shops to issue "change" as a fractional version of the ration stamps. There are Red & Blue Point tokens and each was used depending on what type of goods one was buying.

These have very little value now. However, the apparently random letter code on the tokens has created more valuable variations depending on what combination it is. The Blue tokens, for example, have 24 known letter combinations.

Just some thoughts in my opinion:

I hear your complaints but I've always considered that the overarching goal of this forum was to get people to learn about numismatics. If you have no interest in going or try to shoot down attempts that try to get you to go outside of your collecting comfort zone. You're most likely not going to learn anything new. Worse yet when someone tries to shoot down or belittle a topic they run the risk of shaming/discouraging others from contributing that otherwise may have and everyone loses in that scenario. This may be a coincidence but participation actually seemed pretty strong until a complaint was made. Luckily it ended strongly though.

I'm also rather surprised that no one submitted one of the myriad of humble wooden nickel varieties or a nonmetallic tax token. Most coin collectors tend to have one or more of those lying around somewhere.

Anyway, I digress, since entries seemed to be a little sparse this round. I'll try and pick up some of the slack and maybe I can show some of you guys something new. Below are some other nonmetallic coins and tokens that I happen to have photos of from my collection. Hope you enjoy them. Please let me know if you have any questions for me.

I patiently await the next challenge.

I could have, but decided on the OPA token. During the wait, I'll post them, and not just nickels!

Well, if jbuck agrees, and there are no objections, we will wait for @jbuck. If he declines, I will post of course.

CCC, those are some excellent non-metallic items. I am missing most of them. More things to collect!
