Looks like I'll use this 1825 Half Cent again. This is the next closest Half Cent to 1811 on the newer side but, ironically, doesn't fit within the aproximate dates. The more I post this coin, the more I like it :)

Quote: This means either he prints his own or has them processed at a digital photo processor. You don't necessarily need a film camera for this.
Okay, The only photo paper I have is 4x6 inch...but I can't seem to get the whole coin to print clearly onto it. What's the secret to printing onto this size paper? The secret here is that these film photos were taken long ago. Based on numbers on the back, It appears that they might have been printed (at a 24-hour film place) in June of 1992, before I had a digital camera. I took a new digital photo of the prints propped up against a (fake/replica/modern) banker's lamp shortly before uploading them here for the challenge. I didn't expect anyone to go out and take new film photos of their coins just to get 1.5 extra points. If someone had old photos of a Half Cent from the film era, they could post them here to get extra points.

Quote: I no longer have a film-based camera so I don't think that I can claim more than 6 points for an exact match of the coin. That picture looks like a "ONE CENT" coin -- did you perhaps upload the wrong reverse image? --------------------------------------- Leaderboard (so far, based on uploaded pics): 5 points - jbuck (1st 5-point entry) 5 points - mysilveryears 5 points - spence (assuming this is really a large cent) 4 points - bd241 3 points - Joseph7420

I could only get to 4.5 points with a photo, so since it won't make a difference I will settle for 3 points. Here's my 3 pointer.

First off I apologize for the poor picture quality. I only have a cell phone camera and a scanner and copper does not do well on the scanner. Second I have no idea what I am doing or if I am even following the rules but here goes 1809 Half Cent plus "photo" of the coin

Quote: Nope. But I believe jfransch may have. By "film photo", I meant posting a photo taken with a real film camera (not a cell phone or scanner), using photographic film, preferably long ago. The goal was to show how people took their coin photos before digital cameras came along. It looks like jbuck's 5-point submission is still in the lead, with just 6 minutes to go.
