Looks like a planchet was almost clipped? Only happened on the reverse, reeding is fine but looks like reeded edge was applied to distorted surface? What do you think?

Hhhm. Strange. I'll see what the others think of this because I'm not sure what the answer is.

. After much pondering, idoono? I don't think it is either pre-strike or strike damage. Whether it happened in the ejection process or post mint is the question. The parabola shape matches that of the outside of coin but in a 180° out of place, flipped in other words. Second thought, since it is anvil die I wonder if it is not a strike through of a die press part, I.e. feeder finger, broken collar piece. This may be a good question for Mike Diamond?

Edit: pretty sure its a strike through a broken metal part that was laying on the anvil die when planchet first placed, then struck and ejected with errant piece

I think its PMD. If you look on the obverse, I can see faint marks on the rim. Looks like a hit from something or stamped.
Rest in Peace

Metal is pushed up, so a hit of some kind.

I'm thinking that it may be a struck through

After some consideration, I'm thinking struck-through as well. I don't see accompanying evidence of PMD that could cause this.

Potential blanking burr a.k.a., rolling fold. Thanks, Doug.

Nice find! I have a 2013 LSC that was Struck Through a Rim Burr. I found it during CRH in a circulated bankroll from a bank box of U.S. pennies. :)

Might give this coin a go for TPG error attribution.

Good find! A lovely Ike even if this is an error or just PMD.
