I'm between AU55 and closer to AU58?
edit ... Naw ... I'll stick with AU55 on a count of the rim contact marks.

At least AU-58, maybe even low MS. I see a fair amount of contact marks but no signs of wear.

I'm not seeing rub in any normal pattern indicating circulation. I'd be at a lower MS-62.

Americans always grade their gold severely.
That is OK.
I think that is is basically in line in how the British grade ALL of their coins, not just gold.

This one:
AU58,
(fewer than normal nicks and scratches for that grade),
I think that I see a tiny amount of wear on the hair over Liberty's ear, and on one or two of the high points of the eagle's feathers.
