Here is my Wood's Rosa Americana penny dated 1722 AD, which I bought from someone on CCF. The attribution is W-1272, Martin 3-D, and Breen 119, which makes it rarity URS-4 (between 5 and 8 pieces known). Sorry for the substandard pics.

My example is three years older, its denomination is twice as large, and I paid three times as much money. Same mint though France (sometimes listed as French Colonies), 30 deniers (mousquetaire), 1710-AA (Metz mint). The mintage was, apparently, 13,269,922 (according to Numista). ...I don't have any Half Cents, don't recall if I've ever made a pic of my only pre-1835 large cent (and it's dateless anyway), and I hadn't seen my only cupronickel IHC in years. I expect to return home (from the vacation trip I'm currently on) sometime late evening August 30th, so hopefully I might be able to quickly find my lowest mintage IHC and post it (pretty sure I had one from the 1870s... really bad condition though). I could post my 1841 large cent if the 1835 was a typo though

1828 US Half Cent 12 Stars VarietyMintage: 606,000 From prices and from what I understand, there were three dies for 1828 Half Cents, Two with 13 stars and One with 12. The prices almost reflect this that these are roughly worth twice what a comparable 13 star Half Cent would be priced. Two to one looks like the ratio. Perhaps there were about 202,000 minted?

@TNG, that is a great Half Cent. Mine is a 1794 (C-9) that is in much worse condition. Looks like 81,600 were minted.

Your Half Cent Spence, is one type that I don't have .... yet it is on my list for my type set. ( But then so is the 1793 - maybe we'll see one posted here? )

It's was hard to put together something like this. I apologize. I am glad you caught these things. People will probably know it is a typo anyway and post. ( I hope ) Maybe I can get jbuck or another mod will go in and clean up aisle two for me.

Nice jbuck and bd251. jbuck, if you could do a little editing for me in post 1 that would be awesome, but I think we could probably get by if you can't or don't. That link was very interesting bd251, and it will get a second read by me. I did know about corroded planchets and coins used as ballast but never saw such a post like that. I'm going to slip this girl in, just so we have a draped bust in the mix. A more common variety of 4 varieties that had a total mintage of 356,000. 1806 plain 6 stemless US Half Cent
