Well, it is always worth 25 cents .

I'm sorry but from the photo I can't really see anything specific. Looks like a splotch down by the date and maybe something on the book?

If you can provide a couple of sharper images and a close up of the area(s) in question we would be happy you out. Also, please post your images in the proper rotation? It really is easier for us the see the differences.

I agree it's a common coin and better photos are needed. Is there any particular reason you think your coin may be worth more than face value?

The quarter sounds different and it looks different than any quater I seen I had it saved for 3 years and I just wanted to know if it was worth saving

Welcome!

Your coin has PMD (post mint damage) which means it was damaged after it left the mint.

People with idle time have a knack for damaging stuff....coins included. They use hammers, vices, railroad tracks....you name it.

Keep looking for stuff though. You never know when you might find a worthwhile coin in circulation! Good luck!

thank you everyone I just always wanted to know why it didn't even sounds like other quarters to, but now I know :) oh well it was worth saving still I'm just going to keep it

Looks to have been heated at some point making the clad layers separate due to expanding gas creating bubbles on the surface. Thanks Doug.
