Looks like it is incuse as it parted the S as it went through it and not over it, like the one through the you & R so I'll say scratch - PMD. Unless the picture is messing with with my eyes. PS: was looking at it again and my only other thought is- could it be a "struck through error" ?

Its a "dockel". The first one dollar nickel EVER produced! Population of 1, VERY, VERY rare, worth a small fortune! TPG that sucker right away! Don't delay, every minute counts! Pix when it comes back!

The damage on the letter S occurs in the word PLURIBUS. There are five or six similar scratches scratches all over the rev. I'm thinking PMD.

A wounded mintmark! Oh no! Just kidding. It looks like etheir a Struck Through or PMD.

As Spence mentioned, there are several very similar marks especially over LUR and FIVE CENTS. It's difficult to tell but, I'd say they are either all PMD or all struck-through debris.
