Hello, I have a 1984 Lincoln Cent that is in pretty good condition considering its age, i.e. very very minimal scratches, only slight tarnishing on the reverse side. There is a raised bump just to the right of his coat. It isn't a scratch or indent, it definitely is raised and looks to have been there since it was made. Has anyone seen anything like this and is there any value in something like this? Thank you.

to the forum! Nope, no value other than 1c. That is a "linear plating bubble". Formed by gasses trapped I under the copper cladding over zinc core.

if you push on the bubble with a toothpick it should collapse.

Wow! You guys are good! Thank you for the great information. I see what you mean by the brillo pad and yes it did collapse after I rubbed it for a bit.

Welcome to CCF!
That's a plating bubble, common to Zincolns. It's a defect, not an error.
