Recent Roll Finds

Congrats!! Great find. Ive only found one in my entire life looking through rolls. And the penny was really crappy looking. It was a 1905. Time to bring out the wine and celebrate.

Thanks, you guys rock. I sure will report anything else interesting I find. I've also found a Walking Liberty half, but for some reason, these made me cheer as much, if not even more when I came upon them. Warm feelings indeed. Have a nice weekend all. =)

Oh, congrats on the walker!

I have searched Lincoln rolls for quite awhile and have never found an Indian. Nice job.

Seeing this made me think of a recent trip to my parents and searching through a box of pennies with my dad. My oldest child has started collecting pennies and my dad had the thought of going to the bank and get some coins for us to search though. About 20 minutes into it she got bored and went to find something more interesting to do. A few hours later I was still going through them and to my surprise, pulled out a IHP in VG condition. My dad started laughing at me saying that I planted it there and that there is no way we could find that in this bunch. I gave it to him and he quickly put it in a 2x2 for my daughter. She quickly came up and grabbed it and acted disappointed that it was the only one we had found. I just started laughing because she has no idea how tough it is to find one, let alone one in that condition.

Since then I have tried to get her to go through rolls with me but like then, she is bored in a few minutes and knows that dad will put it together for her. It is a good thing that (1) I love doing this and (2) I love my kids.
