I have a thunderbirds coin that was given to me, and I'm having trouble identifying it. And was wondering if I could get some help

I've searched thunderbirds challenge coins and couldn't find any with those two planes on it, hence why I figured I'd ask about it here and see if anyone knows anything about that coin.

to the CCF! you won't find this 'coin' listed in any coin catlog, because it isn't a coin. There is no mark of value and the issuing authority is not the United States of America. As it is indicated in the legends, it is a medal for the U.S. Air Force display aerobatics team. It may be made of silver, but it is most probably silver plated copper or brass. Ultra cameo proof finish. Aircraft are an F16 and a P80.

The medal looks like it's a highly polished brass or gold. Any clues on how old the medal is?

Need a better photo, Herman - it looks like there are some letters above the S of "Since". Those are probably the initials of the private company who minted it.

Amazing images Bobby, it would be tough taking a nap with that overhead. My daughter is in the USAF and in Dover for years now. E6 recruiter. I have looked quite a bit for one of these medals Herman1991, and all I can tell you is that the F-16 has been the demonstration aircraft for the Thunderbirds since the 1983 season. So it would have to be at least newer than or as old as 1983.

The small lettering above "since 1953" is "MJC"

So far, thanks to those that have given me information.
The planes on the back of the coin/medallion are the F-16 & P-80, it was made sometime after 1983. The letters above "since" are probably the manufacturer which appears to be "MJC".
I would still like to try to find out what the coin is possibly made of, what it's value is, what year was it minted and how many where minted if possible.

It's a tough one Herman, don't feel ignored. You may just have to wait and someday it will pop up. I looked high and low for a medal maker with those initials and came up empty. Also looked for an engraver with the same. Don't let the lack of responses from the community make you think people were ignoring you. Apparently you have a rather scarce or obscure medal. You would think we could have found out something. Maybe a polite email to the USAF Thunderbirds public relations office will give you some info on it. Do you have other coins you can share here. Please do. I think we have hit a roadblock for now on the USAF thunderbirds medal.

It's been bugging me because it's actually something I can't really find anything out about it.
