The date looks normal to me. The 9 may have been pressed down by something making it look wider.

Believe 1974 made or switched to a new Master die midyear. Creating two die types. Type 1 is large and Type 2 is small. Use the same Type when compaing. Thanks, Doug.

Adding - Unable to find a DDO, DDR or RPM variety for Philly listed, but be aware Denver and San Francisco do have listings. So take that into account along with above comment.

There are large and small dates on the 1974 cents. But both are in the same number so no premium for them.

As stated above, it's a large date. Just wanted to add that Wexler has a Class 2 DDO listing for the small date.
