It has very few dings. The only concern I would have is the extent of the surface porosity.
Price is reasonable.

Didn't want to be first on this one . Not quite sure about marks on obverse . , reverse is nice with full horn and split tail, but looks like the coin has been cleaned .

I don't know about the surfaces - in some areas it looks like VLDS but on other parts it's smooth. I'm thinking for a 13-P Type-2 you could have bought a slabbed MS1 maybe MS2 for that price

with obverse problems, big question just what is it? It looks like a possible planchet flaw. If color is true, that gold tone reminds me of residual gold wash, have seen 1913 w/ center area over face w/ gold removed, very similar? EDIT: ya know, that crap all over the face is indeed a die clash, they haven't touched the hammer die yet to fix it...maybe?

Unless a major clash or a Mule die clash there isn't much, if at all, a premium for those.

yeah, but he asks outrageous prices on most of his coins for sale. He's asking $298.95 for a 20$ 1937 UNC Buffalo too! Don't go by what people are "asking" on ebay.

The coin is AU58 at best as the coin is showing signs of circulation rub. You can buy this coin for $60 in a MS63 PCGS or NGC holder. Below is a nice one that sold on ebay for $79. 112500208827

I am not sure but, there may some carving of letters and numbers in the hair on the obverse, and the coin may have been altered to cover it up. You can check it when you get it in hand.

odb, from a couple of references you have made I can tell you are a fan of clashed dies, on the second coin it is more pronounced but the seller is way out of line on his asking price.

Quote: Multiple letter transfers are usually considered to be a major clash event. Major CLASH event doesn't always mean major CASH event - but if you like it then that's all that matters in collecting!
