So if you deal in ancients you get pretty impressed with how many generations of the Celts would "copy" the coins of some major group but stylize them in so many different ways.

Here is a 24 mm 11.53 gram Philip II of Macedon. Clearly they were never intended to counterfeit and they were employed by some of these rulers. Just have to wonder what they were thinking in these designs.

Like when you see early Greek coins that look like they are becoming India art in that part of the world, or some of those early Roman colonies in Spain that have a clearly Spanish looking bull design. (What we recognize as a Spanish drawing of a Bull today) You can see a culture appearing though the coins.

Too bad the Celts might have disappeared as some people think those in Britain just traded and adopted Celtic ways from Celts. Really need to look up some DNA stuff there to see how close they are to ancient Celts of Europe.

Beautiful coin Joe. It's nice to see detail on both sides of the coin. Usually on this type only the reverse has any type of detail.
