Hello, and thank you all in advance for the wealth of knowledge for which I am about to receive. You are truly all an asset to the passion ("hobby" just doesn't work for me and numismatics; it's just too, I don't know, soft to describe that which we all seem to feel about this thing we love so much.).
I have been researching this 1859 Canada Cent for quite some time, and I just can't seem to properly identify it.
I've included the reverse only. The obverse is riddled with doubling of some consequence. However, it seems as though all the attention to this particular date is on the reverse.
My photo isn't great, but I have highlighted the area where there is VERY clearly a smaller, and slightly differently-styled "5" in the date.
The "9" looks narrow and normal. There are really no other signs of repunching on the date. Notice the small area at the bottom right of the "C" in CENT highlighted. That could be a mark or maybe
Strike Doubling. The "5" is definitely repunched.
Can anyone help me identify the variety, please?
Thank you so much!
