The first one I would think is XF detail ED. (Pitting) The second one VF35.

40, 30, obviously #1 by tech grade.

I like the toning on the second coin better. I think it will look nice under some light.

I would go VF 35 on the 1853. I would guess VF 20 on the 73. I prefer the 1873/ there are so many 53 half dollars why not go for a better grade, I also prefer the toning on the 1873
|

The 73 is lower grade but has much better surfaces. I would get the 73.

1) EF-40. 2) VF-25.
From those pictures, I like how the first one looks more than the second.
