It isn't quite as nice as mikeF's SLDs, but it is my big summer purchase that I took home on my last day of working at the coin shop. Anyway, the owner let me have it for cheap, and he was kind enough to send it off for me .

Anyway, what do you guys think?

Beautiful uniform color and even wear.
Nice full rims on either side.
Close to mark free and even surfaces.
As nice as it gets. Great choice.

Reverse details and clothing on obverse makes me lean towards VG-8

Surprisingly nice even circulation with very few distractions. I think it would sneak up and capture an 08.

Would have been an 06 when I was a kid, but I guess it makes 08 today.

These big gals are expensive but well worth the investment. Congrats on your first! That was really cool of the shop owner. I like it. The lower grade ones with circulated cameo have a spooky and haunted look to them.

When I was 8 years old, I purchased a 1854 half in g-6 for my b-day. No way could I could afford a sld back then. I still have that coin to this day and it is still one of favorites.
