Hey guys. I've got a really nice 2010 P Lincoln Cent, just opened from a mint roll. Very little spotting, and virtually nick free. What do you think?

Looks to be a nice higher grade than normal. Very few contact marks, only a few dark spots.Nice.

It needs to be virtually perfect to consider submitting to a TPG. Yours is a solid 66 right now, but it's still not submission quality.

Note that those tiny spots can turn into craters if this coin is left exposed to oxygen and moisture.

Big jump in price between 65 and 66 but probably not worth the money to send it in for grading. Maybe if ANACS is running a special then it might be worth it only if you think it can get a 66. Those spots are worrisome.

I have been reading that practically all the shield Lincoln cents have this spotting issue straight from the mint. That is why ms67 or higher is worth so much money, especially in earlier 2010-2013 dates. I just opened an entire mint roll of these and every single one has spotting. The pictures I posted are of one that is the cleanest of the bunch.

66RD

The TPG's grade the most modern cents by the spotting.
