I have been to 2 coin shops and neither wants to buy coins...what's up with that? One said he never heard of the 2015 DDO or the 1994 columns within...he looked at them then said he would have no market for them. The second wouldn't even look at them. The first one did say he sent all his off to some company in CA...LDS or something like that...then they sent a check...that I should contact them. Suggestions! *** Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. ***

@rtg, you've got enough posts to sell here on CCF. I don't have a good feeling for the market for these errors though.

With great images and a little patience, you can sell on this site. I've done it in the past.

Most dealer won't waste there time on minor varieties and error coins - there is just not a big enough market for them and they aren't going to waste their time making a few cents per coin selling one every now and then.
Like mentioned above - try to sell here. I stay away from Craig's List when selling or buying coins.

Ms RTG: wish best of luck in any sales venture of error coins. Fining out the hard way that folks like Ken Potter's claims are hard to reach, huh? Most of us serious error collectors have reached that same conclusion, it's not as easy as it sounds. My forte is RPM's. Altho there are many listings estimating a "relative" value, most never are realistic. This is a "projected" value based upon an estimated "population" of that error (dies only last so long. I have tried selling a mid to minor valued RPM in many places, finally resorting to an auction house consignment who would "try" to sell some lots of multiple RPM's (6-8). Altho they did sell the two lots listed(had given 8), one for $1.25 and other for $1.50, all remaining were sent back, not worth time and effort to list, only 15% went to them . I've resorted to trying to swap with others, give away as contest prizes or give to YN's. Same will go for all these newer LSC varieties/errors, just NO REAL market. Seems only one's "Striking it Rich With Pocket Change" are those writing the books! Only those specific coins will bring in the sales, clips and other mint errors, actual doubled dies easily see, major varieties. Of course, all these are quite easily faked as well, market is flooded with cheap Chinese stuff and Little Johnnie In the Garage error wannabes, look at some of the ebay stuff that finds a buyer!

Crazyb0, for me minor varieties or errors don't matter to me as I collect almost anything. As long as I can see the Doubled Die just fine, then that's good enough for me. Anyway, if you want to sell coins rocktowngal, try selling some here on the forum.
Errers and Varietys.

Rocktowngal, I've moved this to a forum I thought would give you the broader audience the subject deserves.
What you're talking about moving is very much a niche product. Even if they're the type of errors which engender excitement among those interested in them, that is still a minority of the minority who concentrate on that particular issue. That's why dealers won't touch them; they don't want to tie up inventory dollars in stock which won't have such a narrow interest.
The key to moving such a product is getting it in front of an audience which has it in demand. That means selling in a place they go, or selling it in a place (I won't mention it because of the title of this thread) where everyone goes.
It's not easy.

I know you were looking for suggestions besides ebay, but ebay is almost certainly going to be your best bet for that material.

In good old Yurop we have a few 'local' sites like ebay, for example Catawiki or Marktplaats in The Netherlands or MA-Shops in the German language area. Catawiki stopped accepting new shop owners a long time ago and for MA-Shops you'd probably be scared away by having to speak German, apart from that you scare people away by sending from the US and offering American (error variety) coins. Plus having a shop there costs you a subscription fee. We also have Finn in Norway, but that's not purely dedicated to coins and in Norwegian only. Having said that, ebay is about the only American alternative I know of that is somehow credible. You can also offer your coins here, as you have enough posts. I'd stay away from other platforms. I'd certainly not go for an auction, as what you describe simply isn't valuable enough for that. Error coins are a niche market, so it's quite difficult to get something out of that.
