looking through the almost overwhelming amount of penny's in my grandfathers old coin collection I found two 1957 D's with filled in B's in Liberty. I know that they are not as desirable as the "BIE" but they were a fun find none the less.I have a few more strange, interesting, and questionable coins that I will post later today. opinions and or advice are always appreciated. thank you for looking.

It is known as a die chip. When you say BI you mean BIE. Both are kinda common on the LWC.

Little chips are fun to find and they keep your eyes looking for the valuable errors.

@tootallious, while E&V is correct that you certainly can post more than one coin in a thread (in fact some CCF threads were created so that multiple members can add coin pics from their own collections), best practice is to limit it to one coin if you are asking questions about it. The reason for this is that having accurate information in your thread title helps when we are using the CCF search function. Occasionally we will have someone post a long strip of 10 coins asking for IDs or other questions about all of them and that is quite difficult to manage, both at the time of the posting, but especially down the road when someone is looking for information on a similar coin.

I'm not trying to sound preachy here, just helpful so please take it that way. I'm super glad that you are asking questions!

Spence, I don't think that you sounded preachy what so ever! all of the answers that I have received are exactly why I asked! Every one here has given me a warm welcome, excellent advice and are always willing to help in anyway they can. Not trying to sound all mushy and stuff, but you all have made me like part of the family and I look forward to expanding my knowledge of the coin word with the help of this family. O.K. enough of that.:-)
