Hello, I've referred to this numerous times when researching error coins but I've never actually posted any pics or asked any questions. I'm not sure if I'm even in the right forum to ask this question; but, I'm going to give it a shot. I apologize if I'm not where I should be. Anyway, I was wondering if this is an error or if it's PMD?

PMD above the D in DOLLAR (if that's what you are looking at).

@moncof, first welcome to CCF--glad to have you graduate from lurking to posting. Second, I agree that your half dollar has taken one or more hits on the bottom near the rim. Otherwise, it looks to be in pretty good condition.

It is just damage. But keep searching. We have folks report neat finds almost every day.

Being one of the semi keys, I would think it worth a little more than melt even with the damage? It would make a decent hole filler.

I agree - not 50.00 like in that link, but I would go a few bucks more than melt for a hole filler like this.
