Quarter looks to have some wear to it - amazing an off center strike could be in circulation that long before someone finding it.

Reeding is applied by the collar at the time of striking. OCs may have a small bit of reeding from incidental contact with the collar but they are generally unreeded.

Found by happen stance, got change from lunch and went to buy a drink when the machine didn't take the quarter.

Interesting story! I find it quite difficult, if not impossible for that coin to have survived circulation after around early 90's due to tolerances in counting machines getting tighter, would have hit the reject tray way back. Musta been in a slop jar or set aside collection dumped by the ID-10 Tea generation of relatives!
