It had a Lincoln glued to it. Note the Cent "impression" is reversed; a die would have impressed it just as you see the coin.

For the record, your image host is blocked by some anti-malware services like Malwarebytes for hosting ransomware. You might want to find another image host....I've switched the image to be hosted by CCF.

What could those "blobs" be on the back of his head, on his forehead, and by the nose? Glue that puddled up?

Sometimes dust/fine grit get into the glue. That is what you are seeing there.
