I don't see any double die only a slight MD on some of the devices.the mold you are referring to could actually be debris lodged in between the devices, my first thought was die chips but they look too fuzzy to be die chips .

Also another determining factor of MD is the letters get skinnier where the doubling appears.

Another case of the super magnification feature with unlimited storage capacity equaling a fly speck on a coin.

Thank you moxing.
Okay now this is the weird thing. Awe, I was trying to do a picture of the two different quarters 2002. With both of them you can see the same thing with the "in" and if you look by the "g" on both coins has the same marking beside each "g" but I am unable to Upload the pictures with my phone. I will upload as soon as I get back home. Both have the same markings in the same place. I have no idea what it is. But very strange why it's same place on both quarters unless it's supposed To be part of the design?

It could very well be a small die chip in between the I and N ,but need a clear pic to make sure.

Thank you Chase007
I was just looking back at my last response. Forgive me I'm not as good as I used to be doing two things at once lol, but first I want to apologize to Moxking for the misspelling with the name. The other thing is the marking isn't by the G's It's between the O and D. I have to wait till I can get on a reg computer. Sorry for the confusion.

okay so I have a pic of both 2002 quarters side by side so you can see the markings are located in the same spots on each coin. I would think maybe being like this would mean it's the way the coin is made? If not, what are your thoughts as to what this is. It's in between the I & N and also O & D?

The closer you get it still looks like die chipping. Seems the coins were minted with the same obverse die - or it's just pure luck different dies chipped the same. Even with the same little connection between the O & D.

Thank you for the good pictures, now it is clear that what you have are Die Chips, pretty cool I have often seen additional Die Chip in the lower loop of the B in LIBERTY on Qrtrs. with similar Die Chips. You may want to check it out in case. What State Qrtrs. are these? I have often seen them on Mississippi Qrtrs.

What you see in between the letters is Die Chips. Definitely worth keeping in my book.

I think there's a small premium for these since there's some coin collecter interest. I estimate 1.00 to 3.00 value.
